Three Patriots Earn CAA Women's Lacrosse Honors

HARRISONBURG, Va. - Junior attacker Madalyn Jamison and junior midfielder Chelsea Gamble earned Second-Team All-CAA honors while freshman midfielder Allie Hilderbrandt was named to the CAA All-Rookie Team. The conference announced the teams at an awards banquet in Harrisonburg, Va., the site of the 2010 Colonial Athletic Association Women's Lacrosse Championship. The teams were selected by a vote of the conference's head coaches.

Allie Hilderbrandt earned CAA All-Rookie honors.


In 16 starts, Jamison recorded 64 points on 26 goals and 38 assists. Jamison, who ranked fifth in the nation in assists per game and seventh in assists, set a new single-season record at George Mason with her assist total. Through three seasons, Jamison has dished out 81 assists, which is also a school record.

Gamble, a team captain, started all 17 games during the 2010 season and was a leader both on and off the field for the Patriots. She proved her versatility on both sides of the field with 13 goals, 15 assists and 28 points on offense, and 27 ground balls and 22 caused turnovers on defense. She added 21 draw controls.

In her first season on the team, Hilderbrandt played in all 17 contests with 12 starts. On offense, she scored four goals and added an assist for five points. Defensively, Hilderbrandt finished the season with 22 ground balls and seven caused turnovers. She added 11 draw controls.

Towson senior midfielder Hillary Fratzke was named the conference's Player of the Year. William and Mary junior Sarah Jonson earned Defensive Player of the Year honors. James Madison swept the Rookie of the Year and Coach of the Year honors. Freshman attacker Casey Ancarrow was named the CAA Rookie of the Year and Shelley Klaes-Bawcombe was named the CAA Coach of the Year after leading the Dukes to a 14-2 overall record in her fourth season at JMU.
