The George Mason softball team returns to Fairfax to open a five-game homestand on Wednesday as the Patriots play host to Maryland-Eastern Shore for a 3 p.m. doubleheader. Admission to both games at the Mason Softball Complex is free.

Sophomore Rachael Davies continues to pace the Patriot offense as she is hitting at a team-best .338 clip, including 11 RBIs which leads the team. Classmate Katie Rynex also has posted double-digit RBIs as she has drive in 10 runs. Leading the way in the circle is senior Becky Anderson, who is 3-3 on the year with a 1.98 ERA and strikeout-to-walk ratio of 6.33-to-1.
UMES comes to Fairfax looking for its second win of the season as the Hawks are 1-15 on the year, with the lone victory coming on Mar. 28, an 8-7 win over N.C. Central. Jasmine Jones is the team's leading batter with a .306 average.
Following Wednesday's action, Mason will host Towson for a weekend series beginning Saturday at 2 p.m.
