SOMERS, Wisc. - After putting the wraps on the most successful individual season in program and conference history, George Mason sophomore swimmer Ashley Danner was recognized by CollegeSwimming.com as the website gave her a spot on its Mid-Major All-America Team.

In addition, two Mason men's swimmers in senior Eric Knight and sophomore Preston Wolter earned honorable mention. On the women's side, senior Caitlin Impink and sophomore diver Kristen Meier also received honorable mention.

At the NCAA Swimming Championship, Danner earned All-America status in all three events she participated. In the 100 breast, she finished runner-up, which was the highest finish ever by a CAA athlete at the NCAA meet. She also was an All-American in the 200 breast after a sixth-place finish and was an honorable mention All-American with her 16th-place finish in the 200 IM. For her efforts at NCAAs as well as the CAA Championships, the Springfield, Va., native was named the CAA Women's Swimmer of the year.

The four honorable mention selections were among the 183 chosen for making an NCAA B-cut time during the season.

CollegeSwimming.com chose the group from Mid-Major institutions, which are designated as colleges or universities that are not affiliated with a Bowl Championship Series (BCS) conference as well as those institutions awarding less than half of the maximum-allowable scholarships (seven for women, five for men).
