2010 Penn Relays Complete Results
PHILADELPHIA - The George Mason track and field team sent four entries to the world-renowned Penn Relays which wrapped up Saturday at Franklin Field, and came away with three IC4A/ECAC-qualifying performances in the final action before the Colonial Athletic Association Championships.
Mason had two men compete in the 5,000-meter run. In the Championship race, Everett Hackett ran the fastest time by a Mason athlete this year in the event, finishing 15th with a mark of 14:21.10, an IC4A qualifier and an improvement on the sophomore's previous personal best by better than five seconds.
Freshman Alex Zyryanov also took part in the 5,000-meter run, but was one of three athletes who did not finish in the College race.
The men took part in one relay, finishing seventh in the 4x800-meter relay with a time of 7:34.01. Comprised of Tyler Golden, Michael Pachella, Chris Carrington and Tom Troxell, the squad qualified for the IC4A Championships by nearly nine seconds.
Representing the women was freshman Mandissa Marshall, who eclipsed her personal best in the pole vault, improving upon a previous ECAC qualifying mark as the freshman cleared the bar at 3.86 meters. She placed sixth in the event.
Mason will return to action next weekend when they host the 2010 CAA Championships on Friday and Saturday at George Mason Stadium.
