The George Mason golf team dropped to 10th place after the second of three rounds at the CAA Championships played at The Homestead. Only three teams carded better scores in the second round as players battled 35 mile per hour winds.

Greg Brouse led the Patriots for the second day carding a 77 and stands in 15th overall. Josh Apple added six strokes to his first round score and carded a 81 and a tie for 33rd overall.

Towson's men's team carries a nine shot lead over defending champion Virginia Commonwealth into the final round. The Tigers, looking for their first CAA golf title, worked to a seven shot lead after the opening round and increased their margin by two shots.

Delaware's Justin Martinson is the leader at 141. Towson's John Duthie and Nyasha Mauchaza enter the final round of the 54-hole tournament tied for second with identical 145's.

The championship concludes with the final round Sunday morning.
