RICHMOND, Va. - George Mason sophomore Rachaunn Ruffin had a strong weekend at the Raleigh Relays last weekend by earning two IC4A qualifications, and he was recognized on Tuesday afternoon as the Colonial Athletic Association's Men's Track Athlete of the Week.
It is the third time that the sprinter has received the award in his career.
Ruffin competed in two events at the Raleigh Relays, earning first-place finishes in both sprint competitions. In the 100 meter race, he clocked a preliminary-best time of 10.45 seconds, but did not compete in finals. In the 200 meters, the Columbia, S.C., native crossed the line first in 20.78 seconds.
The Patriots return to action this weekend in a pair of meets, as Mason will take part in both the Florida Relays in Gainesville as well as the Colonial Relays in Williamsburg, Va.
