George Mason softball senior Becky Anderson was named ECAC Softball Pitcher of the Week and senior baseball player Mark Hill was named co-ECAC Baseball Player of the Week as the Patriots continued to pile up honors after strong weeks. Anderson was named CAA Pitcher of the Week on Monday while Hill was named CAA Co-Player of the Week as well.
Anderson pitched a perfect game over the weekend, just the fourth in school history. She pitched 12 innings allowing one earned run, four hits, with 12 strikeouts on the week, picking up a pair of wins. She was also 2 for 6 at the plate. On the season, she is 4-1.
Hill hit .588 last week leading Mason to a 5-0 mark. He was 10 for 17 at the plate with a homer and seven runs scored. He had a .720 on-base percentage and he currently has a 12-game hitting streak. On the season, he is hitting .558 with three homers. He shared both the ECAC and CAA Player of the Week awards with Matt Prokopowicz of Hofstra.
The baseball team played at home on Tuesday against Richmond and hosts George Washington on Wednesday at 3 p.m. Softball hosts Howard at 3 p.m. on Wednesday in a doubleheader.
