George Mason senior third baseman Mark Hill leads the CAA in hitting this year and after batting .588 last week to lead Mason to a 5-0 record, he was named the Colonial Athletic Association Co-Player of the Week. Hill was 10 for 17 at the plate with a homer, four RBI and seven runs scored. He had a .720 on-base percentage and batted safely in all five games. He capped his week by going 5 of 5 at the plate as the Patriots swept their first home series of the year, beating Duquesne.
Hill is hitting .558 on the season and his three homers are tied for second on the team. He has 13 RBI and 16 runs scored, both third on the team. He is two for two in steals, to tie for the team lead and he has a .631 on-base percentage and an .846 slugging percentage. He has committed just three errors on the season. He shares the award with Matt Prokopowicz of Hofstra, who hit .571 with two homers, nine runs and eight RBI.
Hill is the first Mason hitter named Player of the Week this season. Earlier this year, Anthony Montefusco was named CAA Rookie of the Week.
