The Mason women's tennis team split their double-header on Tuesday in Hilton Head, South Carolina. In the morning match Mason proved to be too tough for the University of Charleston as they defeated the Golden Eagles 6-1. In the evening match the netters fell to a tough University of Evansville team, 5-2. Mason's record goes to 10-4 on the season.

"I was pleased with our performance today, especially Lindsay Gray and Brooke Blackwell who played exceptional matches," stated Coach Stephen Curtis. "We continue to improve and that is the continuing goal."

In singles action, Lindsay Gray and Brooke Blackwell won both their matches for the Patriots. Gray started the No. 2 singles match against Evansville back on her heels as she lost the first set 6-1, but rebounded to win 6-4 in the second and 12-10 in the tiebreaker match. Blackwell easily won her two matches at No. 4 singles.

The Patriots travel to Coker in South Carolina on Thursday.
