FAIRFAX, Va. - The George Mason Intercollegiate Athletics Department announced today the postponement of three home events scheduled to be held in Fairfax, Va. this weekend due to an approaching snowstorm that could bring up to 18 to 24 inches of snow to the area. A number of the Patriots' road events have also been affected by the impending snowstorm.

The men's volleyball matches scheduled for Friday and Saturday against Springfield College and Princeton at the RAC have been postponed. Saturday's women's tennis match against James Madison at Burke RSC has also been postponed.

In addition to the postponement of the aforementioned home events, the Patriots' road events have also been affected by the snowstorm. The wrestling meet scheduled for Saturday against No. 24 Virginia in Charlottesville, Va. has been postponed. The men's tennis match scheduled for Saturday against Mary Washington in Fredericksburg, Va. has been postponed.

A few events are currently expected to take place as scheduled. The men's basketball game against Drexel on Saturday at 4 p.m. in Philadelphia, Pa. is expected to tip-off as scheduled. Sunday's women's basketball game against Delaware, originally scheduled for a 2 p.m. tip-off, has been moved to a 3 p.m. tip-off in Newark, Del. The 3 p.m. start is an approximate time as a men's basketball game between UNCW and Delaware will tip at noon, with the women's game following 45 minutes after the conclusion of the men's game. The New Balance Collegiate Invitational in New York, N.Y. featuring the Patriots' men's and women's track and field teams is expected to take place on Friday and Saturday. Mason's wrestling meet on Sunday at the RAC will be a dual meet with American scheduled to begin at 12:30 p.m. The Patriots were previously scheduled to wrestle UNC Greensboro as well, but the Spartans were unable to make the trip due to concerns about the weather conditions.
