Mason Last Chance Meet Schedule
FAIRFAX, Va. -
George Mason's men's and women's track and field teams will host the Mason Last Chance meet on Sunday at the Field House. The meet will be the final opportunity for athletes to qualify for the upcoming ECAC/IC4A Championships, as well as the NCAA Championships.
Highlighting the meet will be senior Sam Horn's quest to reach an NCAA automatic qualifier in the mile. Horn already topped the NCAA provisional standard with a time of 4:02.00 at the BU Valentine Invitational. To garner an automatic qualifier, Horn will have to finish the mile in 4:00.80 or less.
The meet is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. with the finals of the women's long jump. The track events begin at 11 a.m. with the finals of the men's distance medley relay. The meet is scheduled to conclude at 3:50 p.m. with the men's 4x400-meter relay race.
Sunday's meet will be the final meet that the Patriots host during the indoor season. Mason hosted the Father Diamond Invitational on Jan. 9 and the Patriot Games on Jan. 30. George Mason will also host three meets during the outdoor season, including the CAA Championships.
The meet is free and open to the public.
