The George Mason baseball team was scheduled to open its home schedule on Friday as the Patriots and Monmouth were set to play a three-game series at Spuhler Field. But due to field conditions created by the two snowstorms earlier this month, the series has been canceled.
Instead, Mason (3-1) will hit the road this weekend and head to Durham, N.C. where the Patriots will take on Army in a three-game series at Durham Athletic Park. The Patriots and Black Knights will play a double header on Saturday, a pair of nine-inning games beginning at Noon, and a single game on Sunday, also at Noon. Mason is currently 3-1 while Army is 2-1 on the season, the Black Knights best start since 1989.
