The George Mason swimming and diving team will compete for the final time before hosting the Colonial Athletic Association Championships next month as the Patriots square off against George Washington on Sunday. The meet is set to begin at 12 p.m.
Admission to the meet is free.
Mason is coming off a successful quad meet which it hosted last Saturday. The Patriot women recorded a clean sweep, defeating American (215-84), Old Dominion (168-131), and Army (200-100), while the men also toppled American by a score of 227-68. Old Dominion and Army earned 153-145 and 151-149 wins over the Patriots, respectively.
GW, which competes Saturday afternoon at Navy, is coming off its final home meet on Friday night when it hosted cross-town foe Howard. The Colonial men defeated the Bison by a 91-78 score, while the women beat Howard by a 91-71 margin.
Sunday's meet is the final regular season competition for a total of five men and six women on the Patriots' roster. They are Steven Benecki, Ryan David, Eric Knight, Robert Kreitler, Tad Ogren, Charlotte Edwards, Caitlin Impink, Lara Shoemaker, Sarah Kate Traynham, Millie Wannamaker and Claire Weems.
After Sunday's competition, the Patriots will be off as they prepare for the 2010 CAA Championships which will take place at Jim McKay Natatorium from February 24-27.
