RICHMOND, Va. - A pair of sophomore divers had tremendous success for George Mason in its Colonial Athletic Association dual meet at Towson this past Saturday, and for their efforts, the conference named Bryan Bahr and Kristen Meier its Men's and Women's Diver of the Week, respectively.
Bahr swept both diving events, recording a score of 293.18 on the 1-meter board and 329.55 in the 3-meter event. Among conference divers, the Alexandria, Va., native currently ranks in the top-5 in each diving event this season.
Meier swept both boards last weekend at Towson, including a season-best score on the 3-meter board. She took the 1-meter dive with a score of 293.18, and later added a 3-meter dive win with a season-best 329.55 score. The Walden, N.Y., native ranks first in the CAA in both diving events and has swept both boards in all six meets she has entered this season.
It is the sixth such award for Meier this season and the first time Bahr has been recognized with the honor in 2009-10, an award he won three times during his freshman season.
Bahr, Meier and the Patriots return to the water on Saturday when they host a 12 p.m. quad meet at the Jim McKay Natatorium, featuring Mason, American, Army and CAA foe Old Dominion.
