The Mason women's tennis team celebrated Alicia Van Zandt's last match as a Patriot with a clean sweep of Coppin St. 7-0. The Patriots finish the season with a 9-12 record.
The Newton Square, Pa. product, Van Zandt defeated Maryann Degaisangle in No. 3 singles and paired with Meredith Cutchin easily won her doubles match at No. 2. She played four years for the Green and Gold and at all positions. This season she finished with a 8-8 singles and 10-11 doubles record. She was paired with three other players in doubles action this season with a 5-7 mark when paired with Brooke Blackwell and 4-3 record with Meredith Cutchin.
"It was a positive way to end our season and to say good-bye to our senior captain. Alicia has been an invaluable part of our team for four years, we will miss her leadership and experience." Head Coach Steve Curtis said.
