Lou Onesty/Milton Abramson Invitational Results

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. - The George Mason track and field team took part in the 2009 Lou Onesty/Milton Abramson Invitational this weekend in its final preparations before next week's Colonial Athletic Association Championships, with three Patriots achieving qualifying marks for the IC4A/ECAC Championships.

On the women's side, sophomore Asia Odum ran the eighth-fastest time in the 100-meter hurdles and finished one place better in the finals, crossing the line in 14.39 seconds which met the ECAC qualifying standard.

The Patriot men saw two athletes earn a spot in the IC4A Championships, both in first-place finishes.

In the 400-meter dash, freshman Ja-Vell Bullard ran the fastest time of 48.45 seconds, eclipsing the IC4A mark. Meanwhile, junior Sam Horn also ran the fastest time in his event, finishing the 800-meter run in 1:51.17 and earning a spot in next month's IC4A Championships.

Mason also saw a number of top-three finishes. Ryan Murphy and Robert Reynolds finished two-three in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with times of 9:40.78 and 9:42.46, respectively. In the pole vault, Lee Oxenford was second, clearing a height of 4.50 meters. Kevin Wilson earned third place in the 400-meter run with a time of 48.64, while Ryann Hendricks finished second in the women's long jump with a distance of 5.70 meters.

The Patriots will be back in action next weekend when they compete for the CAA Championships on Friday and Saturday at Towson's Johnny Unitas Stadium.
