The George Mason men's tennis team dropped its away match at Howard University, 5-2. The Patriots and the Bison saw three matches go to a third set or tie-breaker. Howard took two of those matches to improve to 2-9, the Patriots fall to 2-7.
Mason took the doubles point winning the top two doubles matches. The Patriots Brian Fitzgerald and Dan Schneider defeated Howard's top team of Michael Gee and Christopher Brown, 8-5. The doubles team is 4-5 on the spring season. The No. 2 team for the Green and Gold Jorge Osuna and Jordan Lipstock won their second match this season after defeating the Bison's Omar Haloui and Chad Jones, 8-4.
Earning the Patriots second point was freshman Jorge Osuna, winning his match at No. 2 singles, 7-5, 0-6, 11-6. Osuna record improves to 3-4 at the No. 2 position this season.
