COLLEGE STATION, Texas - Freshman Ashley Danner swam in her final event at the 2009 NCAA Women's Swimming Championships on Saturday, narrowly missing a berth in the evening finals as she finished 19th in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:10.99.
Danner, who earned All-America honorable mention on Friday with her 15th-place finish in the 100-yard breaststroke, finished 18 one-hundredths of a second off the 16th-place mark of 2:10.81, which would have given her a spot in this evening's consolation final.
The Springfield, Va., native competed in one other event this week at the Texas A&M Student Rec Center Natatorium, placing 31st in the preliminaries of the 200-yard individual medley on Thursday.
