FAIRFAX, Va. -
George Mason will host No. 12 Boston University in its women's lacrosse home opener on Saturday at 1 p.m. at George Mason Stadium. After losing their first two games of the season, the Patriots enter Saturday's contest on a two-game winning streak.
Boston University enters the game with a 2-3 overall record. The Terriers have lost their last three games to a trio of ranked opponents - Syracuse, Vanderbilt and Penn.
After opening the season with a pair of losses to Johns Hopkins and Virginia Tech, Mason rebounded with wins over George Washington and Saint Joseph's. The Patriots earned a pair of conference awards after winning both of their games last week. Junior Megan Udovich was named the CAA Co-Player of the Week, while freshman Julianne Tela took CAA Rookie of the Week honors. Udovich scored a career-high six goals in a 17-11 victory over Saint Joseph's, while Tela scored five to power the Patriots' attack in a 16-11 win over GW.
Senior captain Sarah Dalton leads the Terriers in several statistical categories. Dalton ranks first on the team in goals (20), shots (35), ground balls (16) and draw controls (17).
Tickets to Saturday's game cost $5 for adults and $2 for youth and senior citizens. All full-time enrolled students at George Mason University will get in free with a valid Mason student ID.
Saturday's game will be the first of four consecutive home contests for the Patriots. After taking on Boston University, Mason will play Georgetown, Iona and American before beginning its conference schedule.
