WASHINGTON, D.C. - The George Mason wrestling team traveled to Washington, D.C. on Sunday afternoon to take on the American Eagles at Bender Arena. Despite earning three wins by decision in the dual, the Patriots were unable to earn the team victory, falling by a final score of 29-9.

After dropping the first four matches of the meet, Mason earned its first victory of the dual at 157 pounds when sophomore Frankie McLaughlin IV defeated American's Patrick Graham by a final score of 7-2.

Following losses at 165 and 174 pounds, the Patriots closed the meet with two wins in the final three matches. At 184 pounds, sophomore Zach Ulm beat Anthony Fuschino 10-7. Sophomore Mike Peterson beat American's Quentin Pruett by a final score of 10-4 to close out the day's action.

Mason wrestles again on Tuesday, Feb. 17 at 7 p.m. against the Liberty Flames in the final home dual of the 2008-09 season at the Field House.
