Fairfax, Va. - The George Mason women's tennis team had a successful road trip this weekend, bringing two wins back to Fairfax. On Saturday the Lady Patriots traveled to Altoona, Pa. where they defeated St. Francis 7-0. They had another strong showing on Sunday by defeating Robert Morris by the same 7-0 score.
"I was pleased with our play this weekend. During these matches we showed great focus both as a team and as individuals," stated Coach Curtis. Seven players earned singles victories over the two matches. Lindsay Grey, Brooke Blackwell, Meredith Cutchin, Alicia Van Zandt and Aryn Christman battled to two singles victories. Laura-Marie Blisk and Sarah Dieffenbach each garnered a win at the No. 4 spot.
The team moves to 4-4 in the young season. The Lady Netters are back in action on February 21 as they travel to Mary Washington before hosting Pittsburgh on the 22nd at Montclair Country Club.
