RICHMOND, Va. - The George Mason swimming and diving team saw another one of its athletes recognized for an outstanding performance, as senior Ryan Metzker was named the Colonial Athletic Association's Men's Diver of the Week, the conference office announced Tuesday.

Metzker, a Springfield, Va., native, helped the Patriots to a 161-132 victory over George Washington by taking a first and second place on the 1- and 3-meter boards, respectively. On the 1-meter, he scored 289.58 before recording a 275.10 score on the 3-meter.

Metzker picked up the CAA award for the first time this season, and the eighth time of his career. It was also the 11th time this season that a Patriot swimmer or diver was recognized by the CAA with one of the weekly awards.

The Patriots will not return to the pool until February 25, when they host the Colonial Athletic Association Championships from Wednesday to Saturday, February 28 at Jim McKay Natatorium.
