2009 CAA Championship Central

The Jim McKay Natatorium at George Mason's Aquatic and Fitness Center will be the site of four days of the best swimming and diving competition in the conference as the Colonial Athletic Association Championships are set to begin Wednesday, and continue through Saturday night.

For ticket information, schedule of events and details about the championship, please visit the CAA Championship Central page linked at the top of the page.

Mason has won a total of four CAA titles in its 10 years of existence, all coming on the women's side, with the most recent title in 2005.

This year, the Patriot men have amassed a 4-7 record in dual meets (2-3 CAA) while the women are 3-8 (0-5 CAA). Most recently, Mason recorded 18 event victories en route to a sweep of George Washington on Feb. 1 in Washington. On the year, Mason saw its athletes recognized by the conference 11 times in weekly awards.

Freshman Ashley Danner leads the Patriot women, as she has earned four CAA Women's Swimmer of the Week nods in her debut season in Green and Gold. Danner has set or matched five school records this year (100 Free, 100 Breast, 200 Breast, 200 IM, 400 IM) and figured to be one of the top point-earners for the Patriots.

On the men's side, freshman Preston Wolter is one of the top performers for head coach Peter Ward and the Patriots. Another freshman, diver Bryan Bahr, heads a strong group off the board for the Patriots, as he is a three-time CAA weekly award winner.
