The George Mason men's tennis team lost its second consecutive match, Saturday night, indoors at the Burke Racket Club, falling 6-1 to the Liberty Flames.
The Flames opened the match with a sweep of the doubles matches to take a 1-0 advantage. Liberty's Giancarlo Lemmi and Clay Cypert defeated the Patriots top pairing of Brian Fitzgerald and Daniel Schneider, 8-4. The match at No. 2 doubles was a closely contested match, but the Flames' duo of Chad Simpson and Georgio Machado took the contest 8-5, over Jordan Lipstock and Jorge Osuna.
The lone point for the Patriots came from top player Brian Fitzgerald. He defeated Clay Cypert 7-5, 6-3. In other singles action, Freshman Jorge Osuna lost his opening set, but won the second set 6-3 to send the match to a tie-breaker set where he eventually lost 10-5.
