RICHMOND, Va. - Two more weekly awards came in for a pair of George Mason sophomore divers, as Kristen Meier and Derrick Butts have earned the Colonial Athletic Association's Diver of the Week Awards for their performance last week at the CAA Pod Meet, hosted by the University of Delaware.
It is the fourth straight time that Meier has taken home the award, while Butts also earned the honor two weeks ago.
Meier swept both board events for the fourth straight meet after scoring 277.95 in the 1-meter and 306.60 in the 3-meter dive. The Walden, N.Y., native produced new school records two weeks earlier in the dual meet at Bucknell.
Butts placed first in the 1-meter dive with a score of 313.95, while finishing second on the 3-meter board. The Silver Spring, Md., native was only two points off the pace of the leader, with his 299.30 points trailing teammate Bryan Bahr.
Meier, Butts and the Patriots are idle this week as they prepare for the 2009 Patriot Invitational, which will be contested from November 20-22 at the Jim McKay Natatorium in Fairfax.
