Have you ever dreamt about being a designer of a video game? Now is your opportunity with the "Got Game? Game Design Competition" at George Mason University that could have your game reaching out to fans of the Mason Nation!
George Mason athletics has teamed up with the College of Education and Human Development and the Computer Game Design Program with a contest for wanna-be game designers to create a video game for the athletics web site GoMason.com. Students would compete for prizes by designing a Flash Web Application themed around a Mason Sports team or Mason Athletics or a fun geography quiz using the Coach L World Ball.
The winner will receive VIP seats for a game, lunch with men's basketball Coach Jim Larranaga, and a basketball team sweat suit. Additionally, for the best geography quiz game student to receive VIP seats for a game and lunch with Coach L.
The panel of judges from Mason will look for a game that represents the most innovative design. The judges include Scott Martin, associate dean College of Visual and Performing Arts and director of the computer game design program; Kevin Clark, director for digital media, innovation and diversity; Jan Allbeck, professor for computer science at Volgenau School of Information Technology and Engineering; Andy Ruge, associate athletic director, intercollegiate athletics and men's basketball coach Jim Larranaga.
This contest is open to current full or part time George Mason University students. The deadline for entry is December 11.
