The women's rowing team will begin their four-event fall schedule on Sunday, October 11 at the Occoquan Chase, the Patriots home course. Mason, who has six returnees to the first boat, will be racing two Open 8+s, starting at 11:00 a.m., and four Open 4+s, which will race at 1:00 p.m. The course for the Occoquan Chase is 4700 meters.
The Patriots main competition for this race is North Carolina, who will be racing three Open 8+s and five Open 4+s. "Our goal is to match up with them and have our first boat with their first boat, our second with their second boat and so on," Head Coach Geoff Dillard said.
The Green and Gold will host one other fall event, Head of the Occoquan, on Saturday, October 31. The other two regattas on the schedule are the Head of the Charles in Boston on October 18th and the final event of Mason's fall racing season, the Philadelphia Frostbite Regatta on November 14th.
