The George Mason men's golf team completed their first of three rounds at the Frank Landrey Invitational at the Spring Valley Golf Club, a par-72, 7,081-yard championship golf course. The second round began this afternoon, but was suspended because of darkness. That round will be completed beginning at 8 a.m. then the third and final round will follow on Tuesday.
The University of Richmond is in first place after the first 18 holes with a three stroke lead over Gardner-Webb. Host Liberty is in third place followed by High Point. Mason is in 14th place, four strokes behind 13th Drexel.
Josh Apple leads the Patriots after one round shooting a five-over par 77. Alexander Kornanec and Silas Vansky both carded a 79 and stand in 51st place overall.
