RICHMOND, Va. - Sophomore Kristen Meier captured a pair of victories this past Saturday, and for her efforts the Colonial Athletic Association has recognized her with the Women's Diver of the Week Award. It is the first weekly honor in her career.

Meier was victorious in both the 1-meter and 3-meter dives in the tri-meet at Lejeune Hall in Annapolis, Md., against Navy and Loyola (Md.). The Walden, N.Y., native scored 282.25 points in the 1-meter competition and tallied 298.05 points in the 3-meter to claim first place in both events.

Meier, the reigning CAA Rookie Diver of the Year, placed second in the 1-meter dive (299.50) and fifth in the 3-meter dive (277.40) at the CAA Championships last February. She holds the school record in the 1-meter with her score at the conference championship.

The Patriots are back in action on Saturday in their CAA and home opener, as Mason hosts Delaware at 1 p.m. at the Jim McKay Natatorium.
