Women's Lou Onesty Invitational Results

EARLYSVILLE, Va. - The George Mason men's and women's cross country teams traveled to Earlysville, Va. to compete in a very wet Lou Onesty meet Saturday morning. The men returned home with a fourth place finish while the women's team finished third.
On the men's side, James Snyder was Mason's top finisher in 18th spot. Snyder finished the 8k race in a time of 25:50.12. James Burns was Mason's second runner to cross the finish line with a time of 26:09.26 in 29th place overall. Rounding out Mason's runners were Chris Palmer in 40th, Robert Reynolds in 46th, Henry Loehr in 53rd, Mike Duncanson in 55th and Todd McDaniel in 58th.
The University of Virginia won the meet as a team with Cavalier runner Trey Miller winning the 8k race with a time of 24:53.80. Duke University finished second and William Mary finished the race in third overall.
Virginia also won the women's meet with Luaretta Dezubay finishing first in a time of 17:55.01 in the 5k race. William and Mary finished in second with Mason finishing third. Mason's runners took spots 21 through 26 consecutively. Karlyn Lockie crossed the finish line first for Mason in a time of 21:36.82. Sam Fickel finished 22nd overall with a time of 22:01.38. Kailyn Lockie, Elizabeth Smith, Monique McKenzie and Katherine Griffith finished up Mason's squad, finishing 23rd through 26th respectively.
Both teams will head to New Market, Va. next Saturday to compete in the James Madison Invitational at the New Market Battlefield. That meet will start at 10 a.m.
