George Mason University head women's lacrosse coach Amy Bokker has resigned her position at George Mason to take over as the head coach at Stanford. Bokker, Mason's all-time winningest coach, departs after leading the Patriots to their most successful season in school history.

Bokker has been at the helm of Mason for the past 11 seasons compiling an 86-94 record. A graduate of William & Mary, Bokker led the Patriots to a school-record 12 wins, including a school-record five wins in Colonial Athletic Association action. Mason had a school-record seven-game winning streak, took three wins over top 20 teams and rose as high as No. 9 in the national rankings, the highest ranking in school history.

"Amy Bokker has been a part of the Mason family for more than a decade and her contributions to both the women's lacrosse program and the Mason community have been immeasurable," said Mason Athletics Director Tom O'Connor. "After such a successful career at George Mason, it doesn't come as a surprise that she would be on many school's short lists. With the growth of women's lacrosse on the West Coast, this is a terrific opportunity for her and we wish her nothing but the best."

Booker became the school's second head coach when she took over the program in 1998 and led Mason to its first winning record. In 1999, she led the Patriots to a top-15 finish in the national polls. In the following eight years, she has led the Patriots to four season-ending top-20 finishes. She has coached nine All-Americans, two Academic All-Americans, a CAA Player of the Year, two CAA Defenders of the Year and a CAA Rookie of the Year.

The 34-year-old mother of two holds a master's degree from George Mason in exercise, fitness and health promotion.
