Mason's Women's Rowing Team competed this past weekend at the George Washington Invitational Regatta. The spring weather, fast water and ideal spectating along the Georgetown waterfront made for a memorable weekend. With three races for each of Mason's eights, and two for the four, the Invite offered a good test for the Patriots against high level competition.

The Second Varsity Eight and the Novice eight both came out with wins. The second varsity took a win over Georgetown while the Novices bested George Washington and Georgetown. The Varsity 8 saw a close four second losing margin against St. Joes on Friday and a closer two second margin against GW on Saturday. The Varsity four hit their stride on Saturday afternoon against Navy, showing their smallest losing margin of the weekend.

Head Coach Geoff Dillard comments, "We were in a lot of tight races this weekend and I think we will benefit from that down the road. We are learning what it takes to win at the next level. I think we started the weekend off slow but picked up speed as the weekend went on. We will look to carry that momentum into this week of practice and be prepared to hit that next gear next weekend at CAA's"
