Mason returned home after completing its tour of North Carolina, 1-2 on the tour and now 2-8 on the season after losing to UNC Wilmington in their first conference match of the season by a final score of 7-0.
In singles action all the netters struggled against UNC Wilmington's players. Brian Fitzgerald played at the No 1 singles, but could not come out with a win losing 6-1, 6-2. Stas Budagov saw the same fate as Jordan Lipstock, both losing 6-1, 6-0. Dan Schneider played at the No 3 singles and lost 6-2, 6-1. Harwood Hoskins came in the No 4 singles spot and fell 6-0, 6-0. Martin Brown was the last of the competitors as he came in at the No 6 singles and lost 6-4, 6-0.
In doubles action there wasn't any difference in the outcome as all three teams fell to UNC Wilmington by final scores of 8-3.
The Patriots return home for a long stretch, beginning with a match against the University of Deleware at 1 p.m. on March 25 at George Mason Tennis Courts.
