LAWRENCEVILLE, N.J. - Freshman Frankie McLaughlin (Hillsborough, N.J./Hillsborough) was named the CAA Co-Rookie of the Week for his efforts during the week of Jan. 29-Feb. 4. McLaughlin improved to 17-6 this season with a win in Mason's CAA dual with No. 22 Old Dominion.

After four consecutive losses to begin the meet against the Monarchs, McLaughlin gave Mason its first win of the day at 157 pounds. Wrestling after an extended absence due to an injury to his hand, McLaughlin made an impressive return to the mat, beating Dan Rivera by a final score of 7-4.

McLaughlin shared the award with Old Dominion's James Nicholson, who is currently ranked 12th in the nation by InterMat and 13th by Amateur Wrestling News at 125 pounds. The CAA named Binghamton's Kyle Fried and ODU's Jesse Strawn its Co-Wrestlers of the Week.
