FAIRFAX, Va. - George Mason claimed a 202-151 victory over Towson in the men's competition to highlight the final day of action at the 2008 Colonial Athletic Association Pod Meet hosted by Mason at the Jim McKay Natatorium. The Patriot men fell in the dual matches to Delaware and UNC Wilmington, while the women were defeated by all three schools.

Two freshmen led the way for the Patriots on Saturday, as Preston Wolter claimed two victories for the men while Ashley Danner continued her record-breaking ways, setting a new school mark in her victory in the 200-yard breaststroke. Wolter captured first place in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 4:43.20 and won the 200-yard butterfly with a 1:55.33 time, while Danner finished nearly nine seconds ahead of her nearest competitor as she touched the wall in 2:14.46.

A number of Patriots contributed to the team's overall points total with victories. Mason recorded a total of seven first-place finishes on the day. All four of Mason's victories on the men's side came from freshmen, as Max Tyburski won the 200-yard freestyle in 1:45.14 while Bryan Bahr's 329 points was highest among divers in the 3-meter dive.

On the women's side, the Patriots claimed another relay victory as the team of freshman Nicole Harmon, Danner, junior Caitlin Impink and senior Mary Beth Cheslock completed the 400-yard medley relay in 1:46.57 to take first place. On the diving board, freshman Kristen Meier won the 3-meter dive with a total of 274.10 points.

On Friday, Mason scored six victories in the opening session of competition of the Pod Meet, including Danner's school record performance with her winning time of 2:03.07 in the 200-yard individual medley.

The Patriots return to action next weekend when they square off against ACC foes Maryland and North Carolina in College Park, Md., at 12 noon.
