Results

FAIRFAX, Va. - The George Mason swimming and diving team saw six first-place finishes en route to a strong showing on the scoreboard after one day of competition at the Colonial Athletic Association Pod Meet at Jim McKay Natatorium. The Mason women lead Delaware and Towson while the men are locked in a tie with the Tigers.

Freshman Ashley Danner took down another school record Friday after her winning time of 2:03.07 in the 200-yard individual medley usurped the prior record by eight-tenths of a second. Danner also recorded a victory in the 50-yard freestyle, touching the wall in 23.83. The Patriots also scored two more victories on the women's side, as sophomore Lisa Faulkner won the 1-meter dive with a score of 260.60 while the 400-yard medley relay team of freshman Nicole Harmon, Danner, junior Caitlin Impink and senior Mary Beth Cheslock took first in 3:51.23.

On the men's side, two Patriots notched victories. Freshman Preston Wolter finished the 1,650-yard freestyle in 16:05.60 to win the distance event, while junior Ryan David's time of 1:55.72 in the 200-yard individual medley was good for first place as well.

The CAA Pod Meet continues on Saturday with two sessions set for 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. at Jim McKay Natatorium.
