Apple began the tournament with a one-under 71, but a five-over par second round score gave him a 67th place finish with a four-over par.
The 20-team field consisted of 10 teams ranked in the top 100 in the Golfweek/Sagarin performance index. Colorado State #27 shot a three round team score of 27-under par to claim first place honors. San Diego University led the tournament after the first two rounds but finished third. The host team San Diego State #34 finished in sixth place.
