WILLIAMSBURG, Va. - Distance runner Charles Millioen reached the IC4A qualifying standard in the 5000-meter run at the Colonial Relays, hosted by William and Mary in Williamsburg, Va. He will run in the event at the IC4A Outdoor Championships, slated for May 11-13 in Princeton, N.J.

Millioen, a transfer student from Georgetown pursuing his master's degree at George Mason, crossed the finish line in 14:34.67 to place 11th out of the field of 59 competitors. Six out of the top 11 finishers in the event, including Millioen, were from Colonial Athletic Association schools. CAA rival William and Mary was well represented in the 5000-meter run, placing four runners in the top-10, including first-place finisher Ian Fitzgerald, who ran a time of 14:16.48. VCU's Jay Wyss finished in third place.

The Patriots had two athletes finish in the top-10 of their respective events at the meet. Freshman Michael Pachella finished in 10th place in the 1500-meter run, finishing the race in 3:52.66. Mason's lone competitor in the field events, junior Michael Wade placed ninth in the long jump with a leap of 6.79 meters.

The Colonial Relays, originally slated to take place over two days, were shortened to one day due to a snowstorm in the Williamsburg, Va. area. As a result of their performance on the first day of action, Rutgers (87), William and Mary (68) and Georgetown (58) finished 1-2-3 in the team standings.

George Mason's men's track and field team will compete again at the Lou Onesty Invitational in Charlottesville, Va. on Saturday, April 14.
