Fairfax, Va.--George Mason University's softball team (12-22, 0-6 CAA) will host James Madison (19-14, 3-3) for a Colonial Athletic Association doubleheader on April 7 at George Mason Field, with the first game beginning at 12 p.m.
Through 34 games, junior Kristin Dickel paces the Patriots in batting average (.370) and also leads her team in hits (27). Sophomore Ali Bryan has scored a team-high 14 runs and also has connected on a team second-best seven doubles, while junior Mandy Bach leads Mason with eight doubles on the year. Freshman Becky Anderson has tallied a team-high 15 RBI and has also collected three homeruns this season.
Katie George leads JMU in batting average (.351), hits (40), as well as runs (28) and owns a team second-best 17 RBI. Jenn Chaves has connected on a team-best 11 doubles and leads the Dukes with 25 RBI. In the circle, Jenny Clohan has amassed a 7-6 overall record and leads JMU with a 1.14 ERA.
In 2006, Mason tallied a 2-1 record against the Dukes. JMU won the first game on April 14 in Harrisonburg by a score of 3-2, while the Patriots won the nightcap, 2-1, and then claimed an 8-4 victory a day later in the series finale.
After the three-game series with JMU, the Patriots will play their next five games away from Fairfax, including a conference match-up at UNC Wilmington on April 14 (12 p.m.)
