Fairfax, Va.--George Mason University's softball squad (14-28, 0-12 CAA) returns to Colonial Athletic Association this weekend as the Patriots host Towson (21-22, 5-6) for a three-game stint, beginning with a doubleheader at George Mason Field on Saturday at 12 p.m.
Junior Kristin Dickel currently leads Mason in batting average (.337) and hits (32), while sitting tied for second in RBI (13). Sophomore Ali Bryan has scored a team-high 17 runs, while freshman Becky Anderson has hit a team-best three homeruns.
Most recently the Patriots won both games of a twinbill at Georgetown this past Wednesday. Mason won the first game by a score of 8-3 and then claimed a 7-3 victory in the second contest. The last time Mason faced a conference foe was on April 15, and the Patriots fell to UNC Wilmington by a score of 7-0 in North Carolina.
The Tigers have won their last three games, including a sweep of UMBC on April 17 in Baltimore. TU won the first game by a score of 12-5 and the second, 5-3. Towson's last CAA game was on April 14 and the Tigers claimed a 6-1 victory on the Tigers' home field, but did drop the first two games to the Pride a day earlier.
The three-game series will wrap-up on Sunday at 12 p.m.
