George Mason freshman first baseman Justin Bour hit .412 last week with a double, a home runs, four RBI and five runs scored to help the Patriots to a 3-1 record. He also picked up yet another honor as he was named Colonial Athletic Association Rookie of the Week.
Bour was 3 for 6 in a win over George Washington, 2 for 3 in a win over Georgetown and hit his 11th homer of the year over the weekend during a two-game series with James Madison. It's the first time Bour has been named Rookie of the Week.
Last month, after a week in which he hit seven homers, including three grand slams, and drove in 19 RBI, Bour was named National Player of the Week by Louisville Slugger and the National College Baseball Writer's Association. He was also named CAA Player of the Week and Rivals.com Freshman of the Week.
Bour and the Patriots will play five times this coming week as Mason hosts Longwood today at 3 p.m., plays at Navy on Thursday at 4 p.m., and hosts Chicago State this weekend with Friday's game at 3 p.m., Saturday's at 2 p.m. and Sunday's at 1 p.m.
