Fairfax, Va. -- The George Mason men's tennis team beat the forecasted rain and defeated Morgan State 4-2 at the Robinson Tennis Courts at George Mason. The Patriots lost only the No. 2 and 5 singles matches and the doubles matches were not played.
Two of the matches went to three sets with each team winning one. Jordan Lipstock defeated Morgan State's Juan Ortiz after losing the first set 5-7 he followed up with the last two sets by a score of 6-2 to win the point. At No. 5 sinlges, Morgan State's Mauricio Ortiz defeated Mason's Matt Vaughn, 2-6, 6-2, 6-3.
Mason's top singles player Stas Budagov easily won his match, 6-2, 6-1. Mason's Jay Friedman won his match at No. 4 singles, 6-3, 6-1 and Martin Brown defeated Dia Campell, 6-0, 6-3.
