Fairfax, Va.--George Mason University's softball team (8-14) will host UMBC (4-4) for a doubleheader on March 21, with the first game starting at 1:30 p.m. at George Mason Field.
The Patriots are coming off of their Spring Break trip in Florida as Mason competed in the South Florida Tournament, as well as the Speedline Invitational, both in Tampa, Fla. The Patriots came away with a 1-8 record in Tampa, which includes a 4-2 win over Dartmouth on March 18.
Junior Kristin Dickel, who has started 20 games, leads the Patriots with a .383 batting average and has also collected a team-high 18 hits. Freshman Becky Anderson has scored a team-high eight runs, leads with 12 RBI and is second among teammates with 17 hits. Anderson has also connected on three homeruns in 22 games.
Sophomore Arielle Weinkofsky has posted a 3-5 record in the circle, with an ERA of 3.19, and has also tallied two saves on the year. Anderson has pitched four complete games and owns a 3-6 mark on the mound.
Next up for the Patriots is a three-game series with Georgia State in Fairfax, with the first game at 12 p.m. on March 24.
