Tampa, Fla.--George Mason University's softball team (8-14) snapped its losing streak with a 4-2 victory over Dartmouth in the final day of the Speedline Invitational in Tampa, Fla.
Junior Arielle Weinkofsky earned the win as she pitched the entire game for the Patriots and only gave up two runs in seven innings of work.
Junior Kristin Dickel connected on two doubles and drove in one run against the Big Green. Junior catcher Lesley Hassen also earned two RBI as she hit a single, while sophomore Paige Miller also drove in one run.
In the final contest for the Patriots at the Speedline Invitational, Mason fell to Rhode Island by a score of 10-5.
The Patriots will return to action when they host UMBC on March 21 for a doubleheader, with the first game starting at 1:30 p.m.
