Box Score

Arlington, Va. - The George Mason baseball team suffered a 5-4 road loss on Wednesday as the Patriots fell at George Washington in non-conference action. The Patriots have lost two straight after winning five straight. Mason will return to action this weekend against Northeastern. The three-games Colonial Athletic Association series has been moved and will be played in Fairfax with game times on Friday at 3 p.m., Saturday at 2 p.m. and Sunday at 1 p.m.

Mason gave up a run in the second and two more in the third before rallying in the sixth. Dan Palumbo and Brent Weiss singled and Chris Fournier brought them home with a base hit. After a wild pitch put runners on second and third, Scott Krieger doubled to make it 3-3.

The Colonials rallied for a pair in the seventh off reliever Jack Zeltner but Mason got one back in the eighth when Fournier hit his eighth home run of the season. The Patriots were unable to rally in the ninth, however.
