BOSTON - Sophomore Murielle Ahoure competed in the 60-meter dash at the 2007 AT&T USA Indoor Track and Field Championships, held at the Reggie Lewis Track and Athletic Center in Boston, Mass.
Ahoure advanced to the semifinals of the event with a time of 7.44 seconds in the preliminary heats. In the semifinals, Ahoure crossed the finish line in 7.46 seconds, which did not qualify her among the eight competitors in the final round of the event.
Senior Ryan McCoy leapt to a seventh-place finish in the triple jump at the championships. McCoy registered his best mark of the day on his sixth and final jump, touching down in the sand pit 15.25 meters (50 ft. 0.5 in.) from where he first took flight. Former George Mason star Marc Kellman, now competing as a professional athlete, finished third in the event with a jump of 16.05 meters (52 ft. 8 in.). Nike's Aarik Wilson won the championship with a mark of 17.28 meters (56 ft. 8.5 in.).
The indoor season continues next weekend for George Mason's men's and women's track and field teams. The men will compete at the IC4A Championships, while the women will compete at the ECAC Championships.
