The Colonials swept the six singles matches and took two out of three doubles for the shutout. The Patriots No. 1 doubles team of Maricel Ballester and Alex LaCoste defeated the team of Swenson/Knoedlen, 8-5 for the Green and Gold's only match win.
In singles action, George Washington marched through five of the singles matches in two sets. The only match to go to three sets was the No. 5 singles match where Mason's Alicia Van Zandt won the first set 6-2, but lost the next two, 6-0, 6-0.
"We have finished the most difficult stretch of our season," said Head Coach Steve Curtis. "I am pleased with the team's progress; we are getting better each match."
The Patriots get two weeks to get rested and healthy before they start the outdoor campaign when they travel to Loyola on March 4.
