Fredericksburg, Va. - The George Mason men's tennis team took on University of Mary Washington and the University of Richmond this weekend in Fredericksburg, losing both matches. The two losses brings the Patriots overall record to 0-5 as they continue to play hard in search of their first team win this season.

In singles play against Mary Washington, the Patriots' Daniel Schneider and Jay Friedman each played strong first sets, but fell short of closing out, as they both fell in two sets. In doubles play, Schneider and Stas Budagov played very well at the No. 1 position before being defeated by Randy Loden and Eddie Carver, 8-5. At the No. 2 doubles position for Mason Jay Friedman and Jordan Lipstock lost a heartbreaker to John James and Zach Detweiler by a score of 9-7.

The Patriots struggles continued as they faced off against University of Richmond in their second match of the weekend. Friedman and Lipstock were Mason's best showing again, as they lost another close doubles match to Doug Barker and Minter by a score of 8-6.

The Patriots will look for their first win of the season as the travel to Navy on February 17.
