Senior and second year captain Laura King has much to be proud of as one of Mason's talented scholarship student-athletes. Originally from Pennsylvania, Laura made up her mind that Mason was her perfect match after meeting the lacrosse coaching staff and touring the campus. Now in her last year as a biology major, Laura is a member of the Mason women's lacrosse team and is looking forward to the future.

As an attacker, Laura is one of the best to ever play the position for the Patriots. The Springfield, PA native is tied for second in school history in goals with 110 and fifth in points with 130. Laura has led the team in goals, points and shooting percentage the past two seasons, earning Second-Team All-CAA honors as a sophomore and First-Team All-CAA honors as a junior. In addition to her All-CAA accolades, Laura was named Second-Team All-South by the IWLCA last season.

Off the field, Laura is a motivated individual. Active in community service, the women's lacrosse team has historically participated in the MS Walk every year. This year, Laura has taken the lead to organize the team in a fundraising effort for Habitat for Humanity. To complete their endeavor with the organization, the entire team will participate on a Habitat build in the spring. Keeping busy in the summer, Laura took an internship with the Live Animal Center at the Academy of Natural Sciences in June 2007. This summer, she will be traveling to Europe with the Mason lacrosse team to play in an international tournament. Furthermore, she has served as a two-year member of the Student Athlete Advisory Council (SAAC) and representative of the women's lacrosse team.

Following graduation, Laura would like to get a graduate degree in education and obtain a teaching certification. Ultimately, she would like to teach high school and coach lacrosse.
