FAIRFAX, Va. - The George Mason swimming and diving teams return to the pool this weekend when they host the Colonial Athletic Association Pod Meet on Friday and Saturday. The competition will pit the Patriots against conference foes Drexel and William & Mary in a two-day competition. The first day's action will begin at 4 p.m. at the Aquatic and Fitness Center, followed by Saturday's start time set for 1:30 p.m. Admission is $5 for adults and $2 for youth and senior citizens.

Last time out, the Patriots were swept in a CAA dual against Delaware, as the men fell by a narrow 153.5-146.5 margin, with the outcome decided on the very last relay event. The women were defeated by the Blue Hens, 172-128. On the day, three Patriots won multiple events, led by sophomore Ryan David's three wins in the 100- and 200-yard backstroke and the 200-yard IM.

Junior Ryan Metzker was rewarded for his outstanding performance in the meet with CAA Men's Diver of the Week honors on October 23. Earning the award for the fifth time in his career, Metzker took home first place with a 256.80 score in the 1-meter dive, and came in second with a mark of 262.34 in the 3-meter event.

Following the Pod Meet, Mason will host the 2007 Patriot Invitational at the Aquatic and Fitness Center from November 16-18.
